WUI stands for Wildland Urban Interface, or in our minds, the best place to build a home... The Wildland Urban Interface means where the city and the mountains come together. With the recent explosion of Wildfires in the Mountain West, homeowners face unique challenges in creating a safe and insurance compliant home to raise their families. We were founded on the belief that with firewise landscaping a homeowner can have it all... a beautiful, sustainably maintained home, that can stay safe when Mother Nature turns her head.
WUI In Practice
The Wildland Urban Interface is continuously being defined, and redefined. Maps that detail the boundaries are ever changing. Wildfire risk isn't determined solely by the surrounding forest or open space. The plants, trees, mulch, fences, and other materials on your property can do one of two things, slow the burn, or act as fuel that brings the fire to your doorstep. With experience in Wildland Firefighting we can say one thing... Defensible space matters, and that's what we provide. A common connotation is that defensible space is dirt, and while that's an option... it's not the only one. Our arboricultural background sets us apart, and helps us maintain the beauty of your mountain home.
